Crown - the knob on the watch that lets you set time and wind if necessary
Stem - the metal rod connecting the crown to the watch winding and time-setting mechanism
Lug - the insert at each end of the watch case that allows attachment of a strap or bracelet measured in mm.
Crystal - the covering over the dial to protect it in plastic, mineral glass or sapphire
Chronometer - a very accurate watch usually certified in Switzerland by the COSC
Chronograph - A watch with subregisters to keep time in
periods such as seconds, 30-45 minutes and 12 hours to keep
time for specific functions and tells time like other watches also outfitted with a stopwatch function
Subsecond - the small register at 6:00 at some watches for keeping the seconds
Sweep second operates off the center of the watch like the hour and minute hand and is in continuous rotation
Tritium - an isotope used for years to give illumination to watch hands and dials now being replaced by SuperLuminova
